Are you struggling to find you in all the chaos of being a mom and doing life?
I have found that being a mom means less time. Less time for you. I have a husband and three children. Each of them requiring different kinds of input. There is just so much noise in my head, that it is sometimes difficult to know which way to turn. Going shopping is a crazy affair. I have four unique individuals all calling at the same time. "Mommy look here". "Love, what do you think of this?"
It is hard to know where to turn.
When I look in the mirror, I usually don't recognise the person I see. Did I put any makeup on today? Does my husband still think that I am attractive? Do I still think of myself as attractive?
Is my mind actually growing, or do I just know what is happening in school work?
My biggest fear is that I will become irrelevant to my kids and to life in general. That I will spend my days rehashing old stories about the way it was in my youth and those young people, will merely tolerate me and not learn from me,
Reading is a way of ensuring that you stay current and upskill yourself. Not just novel after novel. That only adds value to the person selling the book, because reading a novel, just pays the person who wrote it. You are investing in the author's business. Reading a business book or motivations books changes you. It is a win-win because you are investing in the author as well as investing in you.
I am not saying that you should not read novels at all. Novels help you with creativity and relaxation. But rather like you manage your diet, manage your reading. You would not only eat cake. A healthy body requires a blend of different nutritious foods. The mind also requires a varied diet.
In this blog series, I will share some of the books I have read and some of my AHA moments from reading those books. I also tell you how to steal bits if time to ensure that you keep reading and growing. Keep investing in yourself.
